Dennis Rawley Music
Dennis Rawley, piccoloist with the Denver Pops Orchestra
teaches flute, piccolo, recorder and piano. He has been the
piccolo player with the Denver Pops Orchestra since 2008 and
covers 1st, 2nd and 3rd flute parts as required. Dennis earned
a B.M.E. degree from the University of Northern Colorado.
Growing up playing clarinet he began studying string bass and
flute in college, has studied piano the past 15 years and
fools around with guitar for fun.
A passionate and devoted teacher Dennis started coaching music lessons as a 15 year old and has over 45 years teaching experience. He teaches all ages and levels serving the student’s individual needs and desires. His studio atmosphere is relaxed and fun, providing a foundation of music basics allowing students to develop their musicianship and love of music. Dennis has formerly taught private music lessons at St. Mary’s Academy, the Community College of Aurora, and conducted the Rocky Mountain Flute Choir for two seasons from 2001 to 2003.
Dennis studied flute with a number of flutists himself and most recently studied flute with New Zealand flutist and recording artist Alexa Still. He has attended masterclasses given by a number of renowned flutists including James Galway and William Bennett and has performed in masterclasses with Carol Wincenc and Alexa Still.
